Fortnite

As a game that went through months of rumours and speculation, with regards to a Switch release, not only did Nintendo confirm the port to be true, but the game released yesterday and it has hit the ground running.

Fornite may not have broken the eShop, but having been able to catch up with Reggie Fils-Aimé, the Nintendo of America President, confirmed to Polygon that Fortnite has already surpassed 2 million downloads. Last time we heard about a game doing remotely that well, was just the other week when it was revealed Pokémon Quest had already surpassed 1 million. Here is Reggie’s statement in full:

“Fortnite’s launch went extremely well – we had more than 2 million downloads in less than 24 hours. I think that speaks to the power of the franchise, the engagement of our players and the resonance of being able to play it anytime, anywhere.”
