Devon Pritchard joins the battle!
Following the news that Doug Bowser will be stepping down as Nintendo of America President and Chief Operating Officer on December 31, 2025, it has been revealed that Bowser will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, but who is she, and what do we know about her? That’s precisely what we will be covering in this article.
Who is Devon Pritchard? (The Next Nintendo of America President)
Devon Pritchard is an American businesswoman and has been a Nintendo employee since 2006. Her current title is “Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Communications at Nintendo of America.” Pritchard has served as a Sales and Marketing “acting executive” since November 2021, whilst occupying the role of Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and Publisher Relations.
Prior to working for Nintendo, Pritchard attended Kansas State University from 1994 to 1998, where she attained her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, before then attending Gonzaga University School of Law from 1998 to 2001, and getting her Doctor of Law degree.
To date, Devon Pritchard has had three Special Thanks credits in the following games:
- Punch-Out!! (2009)
- Metroid Prime Remastered (2023)
- Disney Illusion Island (2023)Â
On January 1, 2026, Devon Pritchard will assume the position of Nintendo of America President and Chief Operating Officer. On that day, not only will Pritchard become the fifth person to hold the Nintendo of America President title, but she will also be the first female President Nintendo of America has ever had.
Furthermore, Pritchard is also said to become an NCL executive and join Nintendo of America’s Board of Directors. When speaking about this forthcoming change, Pritchard had the following to say:
Devon Pritchard: I am humbled and excited to take on this new role. Doug has been a fantastic mentor, and I look forward to building on the incredible foundation he has helped establish. With characters and worlds that offer something for everyone, my focus will be continuing to build on Nintendo’s legacy of surprising and delighting our longtime fans, while at the same time welcoming new players into the Nintendo family.
