To celebrate the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 release of Drag x Drive, Nintendo Switch Online is dedicating three new waves of icons to the new title. The distribution is said to run until August 28, 2025, with new waves arriving weekly, every Thursday, from August 7, 2025. Wave 1 is available now until August 14, 2025, at 00:59 UTC and consists of the following:
- 9 Characters (10 Platinum Points each)
- Of the 9 Characters, 9 are NEW
- 9 Backgrounds (5 Platinum Points each)
- Of the 9 Backgrounds, 9 are NEW

- Drive – Slide both controllers forward to move in that direction.
- Turn – Only slide one controller to pivot.
- Shoot – Raise one hand and gently flick your wrist forward to shoot.
- Tricks – Use the half-pipe to fly into the air and perform tricks and dunks.
