Our very good friends over at Rapid Reviews UK have released a new episode of their podcast, and it is quite the big one! It featured six panelists who were tasked with nominating their four favourite games of 2024 and debating heavily why their games should be nominated game of the year.
I was invited to join the debate and had nominated Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Endless Ocean Luminous, and Pokémon TCG Pocket. 2024 may not have been Nintendo’s strongest year in terms of system seller games but I felt that these games were at least worthy of being nominated, even if there were heavily outclassed and outmatched by the many fantastic games that had released this year like Helldivers 2, Astrobot, and Metaphor.
Still, I gave as good as I got, and there were a lot of fantastic games chosen by the other panelists, which included Pete Beckett, Kiley Wilde, Cold Death, Brent, and Nana. The full list of game nominations include:
