If you’re reading this, it can only mean one thing, you have opted to take Nook Inc. up on their offer of a deserted island getaway, but all is not well in paradise.

While island life is peaceful the majority of the time, hazards still exist and sooner or later, you’re bound to run into some wasps, desperate to sting you. So, to prepare you for what is to come, here is a handy little guide on what to expect when a wasp encounter occurs, where to go once you’ve been stung, and how to catch them.

What to Do when Stung by Wasps in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and How to Catch them:

Whilst out enjoying island life, be sure to go round shaking the surrounding trees. Those with fruit on them, will drop their fruit, others will drop tree branches and some will prompt you with a random encounter such as spiders and wasps.

With the later, a wasps nest will also be dropped, but you will need to act quickly, because the wasps will pounce on you and leave a horrid sting.

In the event you are stung, you’re going to need some medicine and unless you have some in storage, or in your possession, you’re going to have to pay a visit Timmy, to buy some from his shop for 400 Bells. Just be sure to pick up the wasp nest before you shoot off.

Once you have your medicine, simply use it and your villager will look right as rain once more. Or you can talk to another villager, to get a recipe to make medicine for yourself, but failing that, if you don’t mind being stung, it only lasts for a day, so it will reset naturally if you prefer to avoid medication.

However, being stung is something you can actually avoid, as long as you have a net to hand, or can swap to one quickly and actually catch the wasps, as you would any other insect in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Not only does catching a wasp give you something else to show off to Blathers, donate to his museum, or just sell for Bells, it keeps your villager looking as happy can be and that is something we should all strive for!
