Million Sellers List

Million Sellers Switch

The latest fiscal results of this Quarter for Nintendo are in. Ending on December 31st 2017, Nintendo have updated their listings of Million Sellers across the Nintendo Switch, 3DS and Wii U. Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey dominated the Switch list. Splatoon 2 did relatively well beating 1-2 Switch and ARMS with over double the amount of copies sold.

Mario Kart 7 is still king of the Nintendo 3DS but Pokémon X/Y and Pokémon Sun/Moon are not that far behind. Mario Kart 8 on Wii U is top of the list of Wii U Titles and has sold just over a million copies more than that of the Switch version. Second and third on the list are New Super Mario Bros U and Super Mario 3D World.

I am sure that like myself, you are quite eager to see how well your favourite games of last year have fared among other great Nintendo Titles well feast your eyes on the results below.

Switch

Super Mario Odyssey – 9.07 million
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 7.33 million
Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 6.70 million
Splatoon 2 – 4.91 million
1-2 Switch – 1.88 million
ARMS – 1.61 million
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – 1.06 million

3DS

Mario Kart 7 – 16.76 million
Pokemon X/Y – 16.26 million
Pokemon Sun/Moon – 16.05 million
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire – 13.94 million
New Super Mario Bros. 2 – 12.43 million
Super Mario 3D Land – 11.77 million
Animal Crosing: New Leaf – 11.59 million
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS – 9.16 million
Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon – 7.17 million
Tomodachi Life – 6.14 million

Wii U

Mario Kart 8 – 8.40 million
New Super Mario Bros. U – 5.75 million
Super Mario 3D World – 5.75 million
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – 5.32 million
Nintendo Land – 5.19 million
Splatoon – 4.91 million
Super Mario Maker – 3.99 million
New Super Luigi U – 3.02 million
Zelda: Wind Waker HD – 2.25 million
Mario Party 10 – 2.16 million

I must admit I am a little surprised that Zelda: Breath Of The Wild did not appear on the Wii U Million Sellers List. I am sure it would have sold more units than Mario Party 10. Then again with it being released on Switch, it is most likely gamers bought it for the newer system.

Yeah I think it’s pretty safe to say that if someone has a Wii U they almost definitely got a Switch, so then obviously they would get the Switch version instead of the Wii U.

    1. That is true, though I admit that I double dipped myself. I brought Zelda BOTW on Wii U and completed it. The Switch version I bought last year but didn’t beat it until last month due to time restraints.

A lot of these games have done well because there were little else in the way of AAA titles as competitors until much later in the year. Not saying that people wouldn’t have bought the games but maybe Xenoblade Chronicles 2 may have done even better if Skyrim wasn’t released the month before. If Doom, though a port was released at the same time as Splatoon 2, we may have seen different sales numbers there as well.
