The Nintendo Switch has definitely been on a winning streak as it as been smashing sales records as a console and now it seems that its games are as well, most importantly Splatoon 2. According to Japanese Chart Data, Splatton has shifted 2 million copies in the land of the rising sun, making it the first to do in over 8 years since Wii Party in 2010.
It may come as a surprise to us in the west but Splatoon 2 was also the highest selling Nintendo Software over the christmas period, Fending of Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
I must admit, I have not picked up Splatoon 2 that much, I dabble in the occasional Splatfest every now and again, But I am happy that it is quite successful that it has sold not only 2 million copies, but that it has also done so in a very short amount of time.
What are your thoughts? Do you still play Splatoon 2 now? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
With plenty of support from Nintendo, clearly the multiplayer paint-fest has proved a hit worldwide, but what do you think of it? Are you still taking part in those themed splatfests or has its inky appeal worn off? Drop us a line below…
