Nintendo Switch First Impressions

Hey everyone! Mr. Panda here, with my first impressions on the Nintendo Switch! Yes, I finally got Nintendo’s coveted new console, so I’m here to weigh in my thoughts on the system, controllers, design, and some games. Happy Switch Week!

Mr. Panda's Video Game Reviews

Out to Launch

The Nintendo Switch has arrived! I’ve been excited about the console and its upcominggames since we first heard about it months ago. After a frustrating launch experience, I finally got the new console, and I’ve been playing it a lot. The big question is: does it live up to the hype? After a full weekend of the Switch, here are my thoughts on the console, controller, and launch games.

Setup

The first unboxing revealed the key components of the system: the Joy-Con (L, left) and Joy-Con (R, right) controllers and the tablet-like Switch itself. Underneath lay the dock, the magical machine that delivers the system output to the television. The Joy-Grip, a makeshift controller that you can plug the Joy-Cons into, and some crucial HDMI and AC adapter cables comprised the rest of the included components.

[Interview] Growing a Success with Plantera

If it’s one thing we pride ourselves on, other than trying to provide as much exclusive content that is different to everyone else’s, it is maintaining a positive and beneficial relationship with all those who we have contact with. One such relationship we have, is with Ratalaika Games, whom we first come into contact with last year and now that Plantera is available for Wii U and 3DS, we felt it was time to talk to Ratalaika’s Adrian Vega once again to see how the game is doing post-release. Here’s how we got on:

New eShop Releases includes Blaster Master Zero & Mini Sports Collection

Every Thursday new titles are added to the eShop, be they new releases, demos, or Virtual Console titles and today games in particular were added and they are highly worth checking out.

The first is of course Blaster Master Zero by Inti Creates. Not only is it available for the 3DS, but it is also available for the Nintendo Switch and costs €9.99 (£8.99.) As for the other title, it costs practically half the price (€4.99/£4.49) and is Mini Sports Collection by Rainy Frog. Granted the latter may not be to everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s not a bad looking title if I say so myself and because we’d like our readers to give the titles a try, we’ve gone ahead and included an overview and trailer of both titles below: Continue reading New eShop Releases includes Blaster Master Zero & Mini Sports Collection

[Update] New Fire Emblem Heroes Update Version 1.1.1 is Available Now

A new update for Fire Emblem Heroes is available now and while it is not stated as being a necessity, it really is.

When Version 1.1.0 released, Arena Duel issues cropped up and earlier today a Notification was sent out, which mentioned an update would be sent out and this is that update, even if it just states the update consists of “bug fixes,” so if you want to get rid of the Arena Duels issue, this update is a good way in doing so.

Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Elixir Guide

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has indeed broken from tradition of collecting hearts to restore your health and has also added environmental dangers that can harm you as well, be it atop of Icy mountains or Active Volcanoes to even braving the desert or running amok amidst a thunderstorm. To replenish life you have to cook items you have gathered and make dishes to increase the amount of hearts you can recover (Check out our Cooking Recipe Guide for more information). However, while some foods do have extra effect bonuses, sometimes you don’t want to waste a dish that could help you out later on just for an effect boost, this is where elixirs come in so allow us to present to you our Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Elixir Guide!

[Event] Loads of Coins Event Makes its Return to Super Mario Run

With the second Friendly Run event over and done with and our Rally Tickets topped up, it’s time to spend them again!

The second “Loads of Coins” event is now underway from today 07:59 a.m. UTC+1 on the 22nd of March, which means participating in Toad Rally now results in players able to earn 1.5 times for more coins than usual. But if you never downloaded the app for iOS devices then now is as good a time as any to download it and give the app a try.  Just know you won’t be able to take advantage of the event until you have completed the Kingdom Builder Tutorial.

Ongoing Arena Issues sees 5 Orbs Distributed to All Players of Fire Emblem Heroes

The update Version 1.1.0 Arena issues continue and just like we thought, the fix for it will be released via another update.

The good news to take from all this is the fact that while the issues are still ongoing and the complete update can be viewed in digital form, beneath this paragraph, is that as a way of thanking us, 5 Orbs are being distributed as a Log-in bonus, so instead of getting 2 today, players can get 7 instead. And now here’s that image: Continue reading Ongoing Arena Issues sees 5 Orbs Distributed to All Players of Fire Emblem Heroes

Coming straight from Vandal, the Nintendo Switch is reported as having sold 45,000 units during the launch weekend (8,000 more than the PlayStation 4 did) and given as how there was only around 50,000 shipped to Spain, it means close to every single Switch until sold out.
