When it was first revealed that additional Mega Stones would be distributed to players who compete in various Pokémon Global Link related competitions, not every was happy about, but there is an alternative.

In an official posting by The Pokémon Company, while competing in said online competitions is one way to get Mega Stones (and the quickest), it’s not the most reliable as only a limited amount of players can participate in a tournament anyway, but that’s okay. Mega Stones are also to be distributed via a code that will be given to players through “various events/online postings with no wait period.” It is said that The Pokémon Company intend to go through these two methods (distributing Stones via code and Tournaments,) “until Summer.”
