Since first learning that Detective Pikachu will be the first live-action Pokémon movie by Legendary (Legendary Entertainment,) almost no new details have hit the internet, until now.

According to an article on Variety, there’s not one but two writers who are currently in negotiations to write the screenplay for the Pikachu movie and if all goes well, it sounds like the two could be working together. So just who are the writers in question? Well if you watched both Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor and enjoyed them, then you might be pleased to know that Nicole Perlman, the wordsmith who wrote for both those films is one of the two writers currently in negotiations with Alex Hirsch being the other.

Hirsch is best known as being the creator of Disney’s the cult favourite “Gravity Falls,” so with him and Perlman both being in the mix, should they do end up writing it, Detective Pikachu might just wind up being a film worth watching for those who aren’t Pokémon fans, as well as the ones that are.
