Recently during our special 1st anniversary Miketendo Direct, Mike Scorpio asked me: “What are my plans for this year?” At the time, no thoughts came to mind and those that did were not fully thought out yet, so they didn’t warrant me speaking out on them, until now.

In case you don’t quite know who I am, I’m Jack Longman, the recently appointed Editor in Chief of Miketendo64 and the guy who will be making quite a few decisions for the site for this coming year? So what do I intend to do this year? More like what don’t I want to do? Except now the unformed thoughts from before are fully formed and my plan the site is not just conceived, but written as well. So if you’re ready to see what’s next for Miketendo64, scroll down now:

*More Content: Same thing we’re doing already, but even more it, but now we won’t just settle on simple news articles and general features, but we’ll be bringing plenty of Theories, Opinion and regular Feature pieces, to the table. Now in case a little clarification is needed, by regular Feature pieces, we mean a series of articles as part of an ongoing feature, such as our already running Rumour Has It, and our very new Let’s Talk About series, which will begin sometime this week and be kicked off with Miitomo. We’ll even be conducting a hell of a lot more interviews this time around as well and whoever they may be, we’ll be sure to grab a little bit of news/gossip that you will hear here first!

*More Videos: We have a YouTube channel and although sees some use already, it’s just not enough, so while we aim to flood you with articles on all things Nintendo, we’ll be doing the same thing videos too. Sure we have some ongoing video series’ already, but we’ll be doing a few more and plenty of one-off discussion videos that might even pertain to some of the articles we have written, as a means of building on what we have already shared and by getting that specific content out further by another means. Still even then it won’t all be about us as we’ll also be sharing videos done by others, such as our very good friend @GameOverJesse. Sure we do the occasional video here and there but it’s just not enough, not for this year!

*More Giveaways: Be honest, who doesn’t like a good giveaway? And given as how we recently had our first big one, and a much smaller one, which have both gone very well, it’s only fitting we keep them going as much as we possibly can. Be it one for every 500 new likes on Facebook, or even one every 500 new followers on Twitter. We have a taste for giveaways now and there will be no stopping us, but it won’t just be limited to games, but we’ll also be doing our very Pokémon giveaways as well, so expect more on this later

*More Theme Weeks: #ZeldaWeek was huge here on Miketendo64 and not only did it really felt like we created something special, but it was also a week that went down rather well with you, our readers as activity was twice as high, so in light of that, more Theme Weeks are in fact planned and on their way, the first of which will be #PokemonWeek, which we will be announcing and conducted very soon, so be sure to come back just for that. And because we’re not all about Zelda and Pokémon, there will also be a full on #MetroidWeek too.

Lastly, what else can you expect to see from us? The enforcement of new personal goals for where we want to be at the end of 2016 and when we want to be at the end of Year 2 of Miketendo64 and that as they say is that, but writing all that is the easy part, making it all happen, that’s the harder part and I intend to get started this very week!

So be sure to check back often, because here at Miketendo64 you’ll be seeing all this and so much more.

In 2015, when rumours of the NX and Zelda U were everywhere, my brother and I started Miketendo64 and we've been running it ever since. As the Editor-in-Chief, I have attended video gaming events in three different countries, been to preview events, and penned more than 4,000 articles to date, ranging from news, to features, reviews, interviews and guides. I love gaming and I love all things Nintendo. I also love Networking, so don't be afaid to reach out.
