For the lucky gamers in North America, this dream can now become a reality. Come Pokémon Day, the 27th of February, in select GameStop shops across the nation, you will be able to play Pokkén Tournament. You will be able to fight and given your chance to shine. On a first come, first served basis, gamers will be able to storm into select GameStop shops and compete in the Pokémon Day qualifiers. Winners will then be able to compete in the Pokkén Tournament Early Access Competition finals, a showdown that will take place in the newly revamped Nintendo NY store on the day before Pokkén Tournament’s 18th of March release.

Top players in each bracket, (over 16 & under 16 years of age), will not only earn themselves an all-new Nintendo Wii U, but will also receive training from profession fighting gamers for preparing for their debut at the National Championships as well.  Success here means being promoted into the 2016 Pokémon World Championships, which will take place in good old San Fran in the United States, later on this year.

If you would like to take part in the qualifiers, be sure to visit one of the following GameStop locations:

    • Preston Road, Plano, TX
    • Chamblee Tucker Road, Chamblee, GA
    • Barranca Parkway, Irvine, CA
    • S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL
    • W. Diversey Ave., Chicago, IL
    • Bellevue Square, Bellevue, WA
    • E. 14th St. – Union Square, New York, NY
    • Rivermark Plaza, Santa Clara, CA

The only thing stopping you from trying, other than being an unfortunate gamer who doesn’t live in the United States, is yourself. Don’t be a fool, seize your Pokémon destiny this forthcoming Pokémon Day!

Till next time folks. You’re never too old to get your GAME on!
